What is Jelly Moose Music

17/05/09 - Pasque The Mic @ Bar C
By David Evan 09.

Aug 2nd. Bar C. Buick, City Kings, Regency, 2nd Post. On August 2nd Jelly Moose Music played host to 4 very different yet accomplished bands. This was clearly a great weekend for the local music scene following the success of Dunstable's BOTB's at The Grove. Tonight was opened by local lads The City Kings who had a slightly less polished Libertines like quality to their sound and relished the opportunity to play to the plus 14 crowd, who equally relished the opportunity to not have to walk the streets searching for things to do. It was just a shame that there weren't more people to witness Live Music at its best. Our Plus 14 headliners delivered just that, fresh from supporting hotly tipped People in Planes and playing to 1000 plus people with Cage The Elephant, Buick Mckane caused quite a stir! This two piece create a sound that resembles a band of more! Not only quality catchy tunes awesome stage presence but great lads....who even found time to chat to fans before their journey home. One man confused about the format of the night, clearly still in BOTB's mode, said as he left, "They get my vote!" We definitely think Buick Mckane are a band to earmark for the future!

So with our local Under 18's musically impressed if not somewhat disappointed that 9pm meant Plus 18's only we move on to our next instalment. Watford's The Second Post provided fast paced funky rock with hooks and lyrics that slipped effortlessly into the mind. Their set was the perfect appetiser for this evening's main course and possibly Dunstable's most exciting new band The Regency. Front Man Spencer's gravelly vocals and dapper attire head up this masterful 4 piece whose energy and stage presence make it hard to look away!. Hey Now was the stand out track this evening played by The Regency's battalion as if their lives depended on it lyrics etched across the face and sung masterfully through the gritted teeth of The Commander of the Legion . It was no surprise that this song was requested as an encore by The Regency's loyal 50 plus following and it will be no surprise to see this army recruit further soldiers on its course to take over!
